Explanation: This resolution authorizes renewal for an additional one-year term of the Township’s agreement with Summit Area YMCA regarding the operation of the Springfield Community Pool.

TOWNSHIP OF SPRINGFIELD RESOLUTION NO. 2025-304

WHEREAS the Township of Springfield (“Township”) and Summit Area YMCA (“YMCA”) entered into a pool facilities management, operation, and maintenance agreement in February 2022 for the Springfield Community Pool (“Agreement”), including certain subsequently authorized addenda to the agreement; and WHEREAS, the Agreement is set to expire on January 31, 2026, and contains the option for the parties to extend the Agreement upon mutual written consent; and WHEREAS, the YMCA has provided their written consent to the extension of the Agreement for an additional one-year period from February 1, 2026 to January 31, 2027; and WHEREAS, upon the recommendation of the Township’s administration, the Township Committee has determined that it is in the best interests of the Township to extend the Agreement for an additional one-year period from February 1, 2026 to January 31, 2027. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Township Committee of the Township of Springfield, in the County of Union, State of New Jersey as follows: 1. All of the above recitals are incorporated herein as if fully set forth at length. 2. The Township hereby authorizes the extension of its Agreement with Summit Area YMCA, for an additional one-year term from February 1, 2026 to January 31, 2027. 3. The appropriate Township officials are hereby authorized to take any and all additional actions required to implement the terms of this Resolution and the extension of the Agreement. 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately.
