RFP: ROOSEVELT PARK INTENSIVE- LEVEL ARCHITECTURAL SURVEY PROFESSIONAL SERVICES – ARCHITECTURAL HISTORIAN ISSUE DATE: DECEMBER 25, 2025 PROPOSAL DUE DATE: JANUARY 21, 2026 The Township of Maplewood is requesting proposals from qualified Architectural Historians for the preparation of an intensive-level architectural survey of the Roosevelt Park section of Maplewood. Under the direction of the Architectural Historian and with active participation and assistance by the Maplewood Historic Preservation Commission, the selected consultant shall prepare the Architectural Survey in accordance with the State of New Jersey, Department of Environmental Protection, State Historic Preservation Office (HPO) Guidelines for Architectural Survey. A minimum of 165 historic properties in the Roosevelt Park neighborhood/district/survey area will be surveyed, with all surveyed resources documented individually and/or as part of a historic district. The survey data will be gathered using a database application provided by the HPO and mapping will be based on GIS data. The results of the Architectural Survey shall be compiled in a report that presents intensive-level research, eligibility findings, summarizes the overall survey effort, and has the individual survey forms appended. The Township is seeking to engage, in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local procurement laws, the services of an Architectural Historian individual firm that meets the Secretary of the Interior’s Professional Qualification Standards for Architectural Historian or Historic Architect (48 FR 44738-9). Proposals shall be delivered in a sealed envelope clearly marked “RFP Roosevelt Park Intensive-Level Architectural Survey” and bear the name and address of the proposer on the outside of the envelope to Elizabeth J.
