At a meeting of the Township Council of Bloomfield, County of Essex, New Jersey, held in the Council Chambers, 1 Municipal Plaza, Bloomfield, NJ, on April 15, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. prevailing time, the following Ordinances were passed on first reading. The Governing Body introduced the Ordinances. AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 270, “GAMES OF CHANCE”, IN THE CODE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF BLOOMFIELD, ESSEX, COUNTY, NEW JERSEY BE IT ORDAINED, by the Mayor and Council of the Township of Bloomfield, County of Essex, State of New Jersey, as follows: Section 1. Chapter 270, “Games of Chance”, of the Code of the Township of Bloomfield, County of Essex, State of New Jersey, is hereby amended to read as follows: §270-2. Applications for bingo and raffle licenses; investigations (1) Each applicant shall be subject to criminal record background checks. Per the New Jersey State Police, all background checks are to be performed by the New Jersey State Police. The cost for background checks, including all costs of administering and processing the checks, shall be borne by the applicant. Section 2. All ordinances inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed. Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon final passage and publication in accordance with the law.
